This peppy little jazz number begins with a snappy intro that features three quick breaks that are filled by quick repetitive notes played on saxophone and flute. The main melody (played on tenor saxophone and flute) is then played over the main groove that consists of some quick keyboard and bass rhythms. After the final ascending section of the melodic line, a tenor saxophone improvises over the main form; a live Gemeinhardt flute then enters and does the same. The main melody then returns, and the number ends on a final note that occurs at the end of a very brief coda.

Kittens are magical creatures that enchant the human species. This work is completely expressive of this enchantment. In order to understand this piece, all that one has to do is look at a kitty. When it plays, there is nothing more precious in the world. When it speaks, there is nothing sweeter to the ears. This little tune captures this essence and transforms it into delightful ear candy. This ear candy can sometimes be just as sweet as the sight of a kitten. This ear candy is catnip for the ears.
