about

This piece begins with the groove of the main section sans lead guitar. The full ensemble plays for eight bars and then the lead Stratocaster (saturated with wah, chorus, and distortion) begins its lonely song. The main section consists of two acoustic guitars and and a clean Strat playing arpeggiated open string chords with a heavy emphasis on the open G string. In the second section, the lead begins a double string melodic theme with the open E string accentuating the G string, as the background chords shift to a slightly different chord progression. These two sections alternate throughout the rest of the piece and the lead guitar continues playing the same melody over each of the sections. The piece fades at the end.

This piece expresses the ripe and exposed passion that exists when emotions are laid bare for all to see. This is especially true when the emotions are at their most passionate state and reveal the fragile flowers that exist within their reality. Such is the raw beauty of unbridled love that has not found anyone who can tame its beast-like passions. Such is the nature of the lonely song that is sung by the lone guitar in this work.
